MS Run the US - 2017 Relay

Peter Halper - Segment 2 Relay Runner

Relay Runner for the MS Run the US - 2017 Relay

What:  The MS Run the US - 2017 Relay is a 3,000 - mile relay across America to raise awareness and funds to help CURE Multiple Sclerosis (MS)!  The Relay begins in April 2017 in Los Angeles, CA and is completed in August 2017 in New York, NY.

Eighteen (18) runners have been selected to run on average 170-miles over six consecutive days during their individually assigned segment. Each runner dedicates a week of running on the road with the Relay, while collectively the Relay spans a distance and duration of 3,000-miles in 4 months. I have been assigned to run Segment 2 - a 196 mile distance from Barstow, CA to Las Vegas, NV.  See my segment here:

Why I am doing this:

I love to run! My growing desire is to use my passion for running to serve, help and inspire others.  When I heard a previous relay runner’s story, I just knew this was something I HAD to do.  I will be raising $10,000 to benefit MS Run the US, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support Multiple Sclerosis research, while also supporting those living with disability due to MS.

Running has taught me so much!  One of the first lessons was to never look at a future goal and compare that to present abilities.  We rarely possess the skills and knowledge needed at the beginning of the journey towards that goal.  We obtain them along the way.  The important thing is to start -- to take action.  The ultimate goal of MS Run the US is for a cure to be found for Multiple Sclerosis - a big, BIG goal.  I believe that someday it will happen, which is why I’m joining the fight and asking for your help.  ALL money donated goes directly to MS Run the US.
