2014 Annual Campaign for YMCA Camp Potawotami

Without financial assistance, many kids would not be able to experience what YMCA Camp Potawotami has to offer. By introducing them to the Y's core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibily, we cultivate future leaders.

"As grandparents, in the unexpected role of caring for their granddaughter, James and Janet are cautious where they allow Genasis to go. Times have changed since they raised their children. No questions were left unanswered when they dropped her off at YMCA Camp Potawotami. They knew that her week would be filled with her best interest and safety in mind. It was obvious the staff members want all of the campers to have the best experience. Genasis loved the entire week she was at camp. Her grandparents heard about all the fun experiences she had during her week at camp. They learned about ceremonial wampum beads, bugs, nature, and camp food. They also heard about Brooke, a girl Genasis met at camp who she considers a best friend. As a parent/grandparent, James and Janet said that the closing ceremony "filled our hearts with gratitude and brought us to tears of joy." Janet says "I just want to say from the bottom of our hearts a huge thank you to everyone who made this wonderful learning and fun experience happen for Genasis. There would never have been a way that we as her grandparents, in today’s economy would have ever been able to provide this experience for her without some help. It helped restore our dignity."

Together with your support, we’ll take on the greatest challenges facing our youth, our health and our community. We have an opportunity to ensure a brighter future and your support of the YMCA Annual Campaign makes it possible.
