As many of you know, I changed jobs in January 2008 to join Goodwill of Northern Illinois. One of the important steps we are taking is collaboration with other non-profits in the region; knowing that in these difficult economic times, there is greater need to assist one another when possible.
The Friends and Family of Goodwill of Northern Illinois have decided to support Special Olympics through the annual Polar Plunge. Therefore, I am personally going to "take the plunge" (no that is not me in the photo, but you get the idea of what is involved) on March 7th at Olson Lake, Rock Cut State Park.
I'm collecting pledges (large and small) from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Your donation will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competition.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
