Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page
On April 16, 2012 I will be running the Boston Marathon to benefit the Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE). MFNE is a non-profit organization that (1) educates the public on the importance of early detection and prevention of melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer, and (2) provides support groups and advocacy for melanoma patients.
Unfortunately, cancer touches all of us. I am doing my part to raise awareness of melanoma (and hopefully prevent it) by running the 2012 Boston Marathon. Please support me in this effort by making a donation to my run. Every dollar raised will help to prevent this horrible disease from striking another family. I am running my first marathon in memory of a family friend Bill Walls. Bill fought an incredibly brave battle with melanoma five years ago. I am also running in support of my brother Chris Burkart who was recently diagnosed with melanoma. I can't think of a better way to honor their spirit, strength and will while supporting such a great organization.
I would be grateful if you would consider supporting me in my goal of raising $4,000 for MFNE. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Not only will it help me persevere along the marathon route, but it will also help increase local melanoma awareness and prevention strategies.
Hopefully I will catch some of you in Boston on April 16th!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
