Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

This page is ONLY for people who simply want to donate for our team cause.  If you wish to join Team Poppy C for the walk, please send a check for $25 made out to Warwick Township Parks & Recreation to Amy Nadell 1461 Golden Drive Dresher, PA 19025 by September 10th.  If you are unable to walk but would like to contribute, please do so here!

Our story begins the summer of 2009 when my dad started not feeling right.  Up until. then he was a brilliant doctor loved by many.  He was forgetting things and not being able to come up with the right words and started having hallucinations.  All of the tests ruled out Alzheimers, brain tumors and everything else, yet he continued to struggle.  On January 4, 2011, we finally saw a specialist at Penn who diagnosed him with Lewy Body Dementia.  I remember being so happy that we finally knew what was wrong.  I had no idea until I started researching what we were facing.  I had never heard of LBD and didn't realize how many others (including the several neurologists he saw!) also didn't know about it either.  My dad's decline was very quick and we had a hard road taking away everything he knew, including his freedom.  He honestly lost everything and it was heartbreaking.  In September of 2012, we had to place him in the memory care unit of Sunrise for his safety.  He  lost his ability to walk and mostly to speak or be awake.  We wanted to give him the best possible remainder of his life.  Sadly, my father lost his battle to Lewy Body on February 22, 2015.  We raise money and walk in his honor to raise awareness of this disease so people will be properly diagnosed and perhaps there will someday be a cure.  My father was a family doctor that had a unique talent for diagnosing diseases and I can think of nothing more that he would appreciate than for us to educate others about LBD.  I hope that you will join Team Poppy C on our walk and if not will be kind enough to donate toward our cause!

Remember, do NOT register for the walk here but instead by sending me a check!
