So last year I came back to Chicago and while I was here, I did the Polar Plunge for the very first time to raise money for the Special Olympics. Well I am still in Chicago and it is that time of the year again. I have registered and am going to once again, plunge into the icy waters just to raise money for the Special Olympics. I know it sounds crazy and yes, it is really cold, but it is such a good cause I feel it is worth it.
I may be the one in the water but you, my friends, family, and co-workers that sponsor me with your donations are the ones that really matter. Last year I raised $525.00, so this year I am setting my goal at $1000.00 but I need your help. Please just take a moment and consider making a donation. Its quick and easy!! Every donation, no matter how small will make a difference.
After the plunge, I will be posting pics and maybe even a video of me plunging into the water...
Remember that Special Olympics support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 6,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
To reward your generosity, I’m going to join more than 5,700 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. I guess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
