Tri4Okipe all started with the Cane Creek Sprint Triathlon on Sept. 14th 2013. Daniel Roberts and myself raised almost $2,000 for the Okipe children's vilage in La Gonave, Haiti. We had a lot of fun training and competing in the race and I have decided that I didn't want to end it there. The new and improved Tri4Okipe consists of myself and anyone else who is interested running in road races wearing the Tri4Okipe jerseys and spreading the word of the Children's Vilage in Haiti. I am not going to put an exact total amount that I want to raise but I figure whatever we can raise is more than we did not.
One of the main reasons I decided to begin this fundraiser is because of my big sister and her family dedicating so much of their lives to do what they could for the Okipe Children's Vilage. Craig, Renee, Morgan and Jaron Janofski just settled into their new home in Haiti. Their initial commitment is two years which in return is what I want to commit for this fundraiser!! I am going to participate in as many races as I can in the next two years and try to spread the word and raise as much money as I can for Okipe. If anyone is interested in participating by racing in an event or maybe interested in becoming a sponsor that can help in some way let me know and we will figure something out.
Please share this page with anyone who you think will spread the word!
