We've gotten a late start but it's time to kick off this years effort to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research. For this years fundraising we have team members in two very different challenges. The first challenge will take place during the Patriot's Half-Ironman weekend. There is a half ironman on September 11th and a sprint triathlon on September 12th. Laura and I are teamed up with our neighbor, Mark Renninger, to complete the 1/2 ironman with each of us completing one leg of the race on the 11th. 24 hours later we will each compete individually in the sprint triathlon with Valerie Renninger. But wait! Two weeks later Laura and I will join Mark and Valerie Renninger and square of, individually, against some of the top collegiate triathletes in our area for the Big Lick triathlon at Smith Mountain Lake. This will complete the first part of the challenge. For the second part of the challenge we've brought in "the Ringer". This year we'd like to welcome a new member and friend to the team. Charlie Schindler will be representing Team Potter and Run for Autism at the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC at the end of October.
We do these races because we enjoy them (it's a sickness, I know). However, there are a LOT of people effected by autism who are in a race to save their kids. A race that they did not ask to be a part of, but a race they must complete. Your support will fund research into diagnosis and treatment techniques which are making a difference. Slowly, but surely, researchers are gaining ground and making a difference. We would appreciate your support.
Thank you, and may God bless you.
