WHAT IS THE BUDDY WALK?: This will be Down Syndrome Support Team's(DSST) 13th annual walk and our family's 11th (Wil was only 7 months old for his first walk!). The Buddy Walk is an international event bringing people together for Down syndrome awareness. Our local DSST Buddy Walk consists of a fun family-friendly one-mile walk through beautiful Gallup Park followed by Pizza House pizza, cotton candy, craft table, Know Obstacles band, incredible silent auction, raffle and more. All this enjoyment while raising awareness and important funds for DSST to provide classes like speech therapy, hippotherapy (horseback riding), karate, dance, swimming and more.
It's a big deal! We expect over 900 walkers this year!
Our family is forever grateful to our friends who have carved out time in their busy schedules to attend and support what DSST stands for every year at the Buddy Walk. Our family is also incredibly thankful for the generous donations and support from afar (and the heart-warming notes and cheers included with the donations!).
Down Syndrome Support Team has been an amazing support to our family. We have made many friends that walk-the-walk(pun intended) we do every day. To have friends like this is invaluable. Wil has made many great friends that will last a lifetime along with taking classes provided by DSST such as karate, hippotherapy and speech therapy.
Your donations, kind words and support is never taken for granted by a single one of us at DSST.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Lots of love and thanks,
