Gift of Health - Guatemala

Saturday, April 11, 2015

Humanity First’s medical programs are designed to improve the health and medical services in some of the world's most underserved communities. The one‐week Gift of Health missions allow volunteers the opportunity to make an impact on communities in rural, vulnerable areas of Guatemala through the provision of free medical services and medicine.

Throughout the year, teams of Humanity First USA student, medical and general volunteers will be working with the Humanity First Guatemala team in rural communities of Sacatepéquez, Guatemala during the week-long mobile clinic, with areas for general medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, and a pharmacy. The team will administer daily clinics and conduct health workshops, as patients rotate through intake and triage, consultations, pharmacy and education. Each team will see around thousands patients in 5 days, and hope to provide every single patient and child with free medicines and hygiene packs with supplies along with basic education.

This trip is Humanity First’s broader vision to reach out and provide health care in remote villages, where communities are deprived of access not only to basic rights, but also to preventive and medical needs. Through a tax-deductible sponsorship or donation, you can also make a difference. These trips are entirely funded through volunteer contributions, thus your generous donation will make our trip a success. Please join hands with Humanity First to support this noble cause and give the Gift of Health to those in need.
