It's almost time to RUN the 510!
In a few days, the Oakland Rising All-Stars will RUN the 510. We've trained hard for our races and when we cross the finish line, we'd love to have you there at the Finish Line Party to share in our efforts and committment to building a better Oakland and supporting Oakland Rising.
Race Day
For our All-Stars, you'll find important information you need for RACE DAY on Sunday March 25th in this Runner Handbook, also sent to you by the Oakland Running Festival folks. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY, it will answer many of your questions.
Gifts & gear
Our Oakland Rising All-Star team gear gifts for fundraisers will be ready for pick-up by Saturday March 24th, the same day of the Health & Fitness Expo. I'll be the contact person for gear and will be in touch with you via email or phone about when and where to pick up your gifts. You earned them so be sure to get them.
You can still meet your goal! Go hard!
Our team has raised social justice dollars like true All-Stars. Thank you! In just 2 months, we've raised over $7,000 to support our civic engagement campaigns that will reach 50,000 of Oakland's low-income, immigrant, and voters of color this election year.
You still have until March 31,st to reach your personal pledge goal so go hard! Send some more emails and post your Firstgiving page on Facebook. We know that people want to support you, you just have to ask.
Friends and family
We strongly encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you at the event by VOLUNTEERING at our WATER STOP from 8:30  to 11:30 a.m. located along the marathon course on Coolidge & Foothill (Fruitvale). Please email me at Kopali@OaklandRising.org to volunteer. Volunteers will get free T-shirts and our water stop will close down at 11:30 a.m., just in time for them to join you at the Finish Line Party.
Thanks again for your support and we look forward to seeing you in a few days.
¡Vivan los All-Stars!
