The Twin Sault's Polar Plunge will take place at The ELKS Lodge #552, 1111 E. Portage Ave., Sault Ste. Marie, MI on Saturday, March 10, 2018!
Registration starts at 10 am with plungers experiencing the thrill of jumping into a pool of ice cold water at 11 am. with the After Splash Bash taking place immediately following the last plunger. Stay for the After Splash Bash at the Elks Lodge for fun awards and a great lunch provided by the Elks Lodge! Plungers eat for free and spectators for only $5!
Michigan will be having 28 Polar Plunges in 2018. Polar Plunges are a Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) event. LETR is one of the largest grassroots fundraisers for Special Olympics globally. LETR consists of officers from both Law Enforcement and Corrections who raise funds and create awareness for SOMI year round.
By participating in a Polar Plunge around the state you are helping to raise funds for over 23,000 athletes who participate in Special Olympics Michigan. Special Olympics Michigan is a year round program offering sports for those with intellectual disabilities. Although sports are the "vehicle," the ultimate goal of Special Olympics is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate and receive respect as members of their communities.
