Benefiting SAFE VOICES

Join us as we support those affected by domestic violence and walk against abuse in our community. The mission of Safe Voices (formerly the Abused Women's Advocacy Project) is to support and empower those affected by domestic violence and engage the community in creating social change in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin Counties.

The Walk To End Domestic Violence will be Saturday, June 2nd, 2012. Registration will start at 9am, and the opening ceremony will be held at 10am, with events till noon. The walk will be located at Simard-Payne Police Memorial Park. One of two courses may be walked - a 1/3 mile loop in the park or a 1 mile loop on the Riverwalk.

Several special events will be featured for this year's walk, including a Wellness Tent with massage and health screenings, fun kid activities, and snacks and beverages. Prizes include a 3-month membership to the YMCA for the whole family!

Pledge sheets and flyers are available at www.SafeVoices.org . It is helpful to pre-register on firstgiving or by emailing WalkToEndDomesticViolence@SafeVoices.org with your name, address, email and phone number. Money collected other than online donations needs to be submitted at the walk. Checks should be made payable to Safe Voices.
