Special Olympics Howard County Inspiration Walk 2017

Saturday, April 22, 2017

Special Olympics Howard County’s annual Inspiration Walk raises funds to be be used locally for our year-round sports training and competitive programs for over 700 Howard County children and adults with intellectual and closely-related developmental disabilities.

We run 20 sports programs - aquatics, basketball, bowling, cycling, tennis, flag football, kayaking, cheerleading, golf, soccer, volleyball, alpine skiing, track and field, softball, equestrian, bocce, powerlifting, fitness training, snowshoeing, and cross country running, more than any other county program in the state. In addition, we support the Motor Activities Training Program at Cedar Lane School.

On average, it costs us $275.00 per athletes per sport, however, Special Olympics is offered at no cost to the athletes.

By participating in Special Olympics, our athletes improve their physical fitness and sports skills, enhance their self-confidence, have greater readiness for employment, and are better prepared for independent living.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. However, if you prefer, you can mail your donation to our office at 8970 Route 108, Suite A-1, Columbia, MD 21045.

If you are also registering to participate in the walk, registration is $50.00. Incentive prizes are:

Level 1: $50 = 2017 Inspiration Walk t-Shirt plus entry into prize raffles (Raffle include gift cards from many Howard County restaurants and businesses and special prizes. Must be present to win.)
Level 2: $500 = Level 1 + 25oz  Copper Vacuum Flask with Ceramic Lining OR Inspiration Walk sherpa blanket

Level 4: $2,000 = Level 1 + Men’s or Women’s Special Olympics Fossil Watch OR SOHO Rolling Duffel OR Night Out (dinner and movie for two)
