Every year, the University of Michigan Running Club holds Race Across Michigan, a 24-hour, 184-mile relay across the state of Michigan to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics in Michigan Area 20. Fundraising will take place up through the day of the event, March 17th 2018. In years past the club has raised over $20,000, and this year we hope to reach $25,000+!
The Special Olympics is a worldwide organization that provides the opportunity for athletic training, competition, and camaraderie for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Area 20 operates within Washtenaw County, bringing the joys of athletics, competition, and friendship to over 900 athletes and their families.
