You should know that you are looking great lately. How are your classes going? I think it is awesome how smart you are. But there is one area where I think even you might need a little schooling. Zombies. The undead are preparing to attack and it is only a matter of time till they strike. Join me in a night where we fight back! Because I am not the only one that loves you for your brains...
What you need to know:
WHEN: On Friday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. Check-in and orientation will begin at 1:30 p.m.
WHAT: Runners must make it to all three secret checkpoints without being bitten by zombies. Clues will be given to where these checkpoints may be. After reaching the three checkpoints the runners must make it to the fourth and final checkpoint. Zombies may roam wherever they may please without working together. Rules will be handed out and discussed the day of the event so arrive early.
WHERE: The event will start at the U.C. Bovee Center and then will be broken up into runners and zombies.
HOW: Sign up on this website here! It costs $20 to be a runner and $20 to be a zombie. For the runners, every $25 raised over $20 will be given a "Free Life" card which makes them immune to one zombie bite. A 35/65 runner/zombie ratio will be maintained for the event.
PRIZE: The first runner to make it to all four checkpoints will receive an awesome prize, fame and glory (and they usually "get the girl...or guy"). There will also be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place runners. There will also be prizes for Best Dressed Zombie and prizes given to zombies based on how many runners they "infect."
WHY: This event will be incredibly fun. You will finally be able to test your survival skills in a simulated zombie apocalypse or test your merit as the walking dead. Most importantly the event will benefit Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI).
SOMI is a great organization that benefits Special Olympic athletes all across the region. Survive Mount Pleasant will be fun and incredibly beneficial to a great organization in SOMI. For more information on SOMI please go to their website at: www.somi.org
