Join us for the sixth annual Special Olympics Vance County Polar Plunge!

Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Satterwhite Point Glasshouse
Inclement weather date: Saturday, February 10, 2018

Event Schedule:

  • 9:30 am-10 am: Check-in
  • 10:00 am-10:30 am: Prize giveaways. Come dressed to impress - prizes will be awarded for best costume (individual), best costume (team),  most money raised (individual), most money raised (team), largest team.
  • 10:30 am: Plunges begin!

 

Cost: Individuals are required to collect a minimum of $30 to participate. Hot cocoa and a t-shirt will be provided for all Plungers!

 

Here are some helpful Polar Plunge Tips:

  • Bring a jacket/sweatshirt/warm clothes to wear before the jump.
  • Wear loose fitting clothing that will be easy to quickly remove once wet.
  • Bring a change of clothes for after the jump.
  • Wear a costume!
  • Jump as a team and get your friends involved.
  • Tennis shoes or water shoes are required.
  • Bring towels to dry off.
  • No wet suits/dry suits.
  • Alcohol prohibited.

 

Directions and Parking info:
Kerr Lake State Recreation Area is located in Vance and Warren counties, north of Henderson. It can be reached via US 1, NC 39 or I-85. On I-85, the exits for the individual recreation areas are marked.
To Satterwhite Point and park office: From I-85, take exit 217 and travel north on Satterwhite Point Road approximately six miles. Continue until you get to a community building on the left, which is the
glasshouse, and park in the lot in front of the building.
