On Saturday, February 24, the 2018 Northern Hills Polar Plunge will make a splash at the Spearfish Recreation & Aquatic Center. This will be the 8th year of the Northern Hills Polar Plunge - and each year just keeps getting bigger and better!
In 2017, 110 Plungers raised over $23,000 for Special Olympics South Dakota, the Northern Hills Training Center, Belle Fourche Schools, and the Spearfish Schools local programs! We want to exceed these numbers and get even more participants to take the Plunge - but we need your help to do that! It's never too early to start fundraising, planning your costume, and recruiting your team members! You may be cold after you jump in the water, but we can promise you that you will warm up quickly when you see the smiles and joy that your efforts and bravery help bring to our 2,000 Special Olympics South Dakota athletes!
Register now to get started on your fundraising quest! Make sure to visit www.plungesd.org for more tools and resources. Make sure to check out the cool prizes you could get for going above and beyond in your fundraising!
Registration will begin at 12:30 pm in the Spearfish Recreation & Aquatic Center gym, with the Plunge kicking off at 2:00 pm in the parking lot. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to register and change for the Plunge! Don't forget to bring a change of clothes (including shoes), towel, funds raised and your costume! Be prepared to have tons of fun while you are "Freezin for a Reason!"
