Benefiting Special Olympics Virginia

More than 2,000 officers across Virginia are involved in the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, Special Olympic Virginia’s – and the world’s – largest grassroots fundraiser. Each June, they carry the Flame of Hope more than 1,900 miles across Virginia to kick off the Summer Games in Richmond. Since 1986, police departments, sheriff’s offices, regional jails, correctional and probation officers, as well as other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, VA ABC and Marine Patrol, pound the pavement every day to organize fundraisers and more importantly, promote the mission of Special Olympics. They host activities and events from golf tournaments and the Plane Pull® to Lock-Ups and T-shirt and hat sales to benefit Special Olympics Virginia.
