My name is Emily Socolinsky, and I am the owner of Fivex3 Training, a strength and conditioning gym in Baltimore. For the past three years, we have hosted an annual Charm City Strongwoman Contest to benefit the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation. Last year’s contest was a HUGE success. We raised over $13,000 for Susie's Cause, over double from 2013. We are looking forward to another exciting and successful contest this year with a goal of $20,000.
The event will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 9am – 5pm on Eden Street between Aliceanna and Fleet Street, just outside the Fivex3 Training gym. The outdoor location guarantees a great deal of exposure and visibility within the community.
. My sister, Charlotte Bohn, was diagnosed in 2011 with Stage 3 colon cancer at the age of 35. She was re-diagnosed in June of 2013 with Stage 4 colon cancer. During this time, Susie's Cause was there for her every step of the way. She lived her life to the fullest until she could live no longer. On February11, 2015, my sister Charlotte died at Gilchrist Hospice at the age of 38. Charlotte was a warrior and never allowed her cancer to define who she was. This year's contest will mark the 4th Annual Charm City Strongwoman Contest, which will now be known as The Charlotte Bohn Charm City Strongwoman Memorial Contest.
