Vacamas 5th Annual "Help Send a Kid to Camp" Bike Ride

Sunday, June 03, 2012

Help us to raise $30,000 to support the Vacamas Programs for Youth "Camp Scholarship Fund" which will send deserving kids to summer camp who could not otherwise afford to attend.  The dollars we raise through your efforts will determine how many kids will benefit.

Our 5th Annual Ride will again feature two well-marked routes:  a challenging 45 mile trip for experienced riders and a 15 mile journey for less seasoned riders.  Both routes will start and end at North Caldwell's Mountain Ave. Sports Complex.  Registration opens at 8:00 AM, with the long ride starting at 9:00 AM and the short ride departing at 10:00 AM.  All riders will return to the Mountain Ave complex after their rides for a traditional Camp BBQ, music and other festivities.

Every rider is encouraged to create their own fundraising page and raise a minimum of $100, in addition to their registration fee, by inviting family, friends and colleagues to support your efforts.  Please contact Vacamas for assistance in how to easily solicit the support of others.

Form a team, through your company or your personal network, and multiply your impact.  Raise $600 and help send a kid to camp for one week, Raise $1800 and help send a kid to camp for a full three week session.

Special recognition will be bestowed upon top individual and team fundraisers.

Vacamas remains committed to serving families and youth through our school-based interventions and our on-camp programs. In these difficult economic times, we know that our services are in demand now more than ever before, and we are constantly striving to expand and adapt to meet the needs of those in our communities.

We must rely on events such as our Bike Ride to generate supplemental income to advance our efforts.

A special day is planned which will make this more than just a "bike ride".  Along with our well-marked routes through several scenic suburban communities, riders will enjoy a breakfast to get the day started and a scrumptious camp-style BBQ in the afternoon with a dee-jay providing music.
