On Saturday, October 6th 2012, Wright-Way Rescue celebrates the 2nd annual Run for Shelter and Family Picnic at the Bunker Hill Forest Preserve in Niles, Illinois!
This 5k Run and Walk is our largest annual fundraiser to support our mission. Wright-Way Rescue reduces the number of homeless adoptable pets euthanized in the Midwest each year. Through our care center, adoption program, community education, promotion of spaying and neutering, and a shelter medicine outreach program we have rescued nearly 4,000 puppies, kittens, dogs and cats in 2011, and 12,000 since we started!
In conjunction with our 2012 Run for Shelter, we will also host a Family Reunion Picnic. This offers our adoptive families a chance to come together to reunite with litter mates, catch up with the Wright-Way families and volunteers and share touching adoption stories. Individuals of all ages are welcome! There will be a live band, food, games, pet contests, raffle, fun for the kids and much more! There will be 2 celebrities present, LeeAnn Trotter NBC5's Entertainment Reporter and Scotty "Special K" Kay from 103.5 KISS FM, as well as media coverage. Included in your registration fee is a “Run for Shelter” t-shirt! Wright-Way encourages participants to run/walk with their (leashed) pet.
Register here and start your own fundraising team. Family, friends, and co-workers can log on and sponsor you and/or your team. You can also choose to "cover the fee" so that Wright-Way receives 100% of the donation! Together we can save the lives of thousands of animals otherwise destined for euthanasia who are waiting to find their forever home!
